Fishing at Dawn

This photo was taken a few years ago at a friends cottage in northern Ontario, just outside Algonquin Park. It was shot with my first digital camera I bought while working in Japan back in 1999, an Olympus 3.2 megapixal camera. The one thing I always complained about with this point & shoot was all the shots I missed because the frame capture was so slow. So I found that I was restricting my photos to mostly stills or almost no movement to try to capture the moment. I sometimes think I still find myself restricting those shots out of habit, one perhaps I will try to break in the new year.

Boathouses at Dawn

I'm usually not much of a morning person but on the rare occasion I have been known to make an exception . This was one of those mornings. I was staying at a bed & breakfast in a small town at Lake Erie in Ontario back in 2005 and was awake almost before the birds. So I took advantage of the sleepiness of a quiet Sunday morning and took a stroll down to the docks in the center of town and snapped this photo.

Mexican High Noon

I was noticing all the shadows at high noon coming straight down from some objects and others had no shadows at all. Photos were taken in Cozumel Mexico 2008.

Iris

This was taken in my backyard, one of many varieties of Irises I have collected over the years.

Iris Tears

I actually caught the reflection of the other Irises in the raindrops that had formed along the edge of this flower. I made the main flower black & white in CS3 to bring out the reflections that otherwise blended in to the rest of the photo.

My Intent is my Photos

My Goal is to add a photo on a regular basis but I won't commit to every day as this is only my hobby. I promise there will be a variety and they won't be mostly cats.

Angel Wings

This shot was taken on the beach in Prince Edward Island Canada in 2006. I gave my niece and nephew some stale croissants to break apart and toss in the air to attract the gulls.

Intense Stare

This is the neighborhood cat. She spends most of her time across the street, but actually lives on the next block over.

Barn Cat

Remember those old 110 pocket Instamatic cameras...well if you do then you really are dating yourself. But seriously this was all I had way back then to "capture the moments" and it did the trick, graininess and all.

Cattitude

Dusty was the boss. I got this cat for my little sister for Christmas one year. He lived to a ripe old age as most ornery old farts usually do. The camera I had at the time was a 35mm Ricoh ...ahhh I loved that camera.... till my ex stole it from me.
